We begin with Rob Reeves of Just Shutters Bristol, who shares a story about one customer whose home and outlook, were beautifully transformed.
A Thoughtful Design for a Creative Home
When Rob first met Jacqui, a retired artist with a fascinating background in global tech, she had a clear vision for her small but light-filled flat overlooking a woodland path. Surrounded by her vibrant paintings, including a colourful scene of her old veranda in Sacramento, she wanted her home to feel uplifting, creative and calm.
Her flat looks out across trees and a woodland path. She loves to watch people passing by, but she also contends with strong afternoon light, summer heat and the need for occasional privacy. Jacqui told Rob she wanted a solution that was practical and flexible, while still looking beautiful enough to complement her artwork.
After asking plenty of questions and spending time understanding what really mattered to her, Rob designed a bespoke solution using CraftWood shutters in Pure White with 64mm louvres and centre tilt rods.
The result transformed her space, softening the light, bringing elegance and making her home feel brighter and more serene. Even when the panels are folded open, everything looks neat and refined thanks to Rob’s decision to design the shutters without a bottom frame breaking the window sill — a small detail most people might overlook, but one Jacqui noticed straight away.
